Bird's Nest Fern, Crow's Nest Fern
Asplenium nidus

This Bird's Nest fern is about 25 years old and is not bothered by snails at all. It is about 10 feet in diameter and grows in filtered shade in La Mesa, CA (a suburb of San Diego).

WOW!! This is the largest "Bird's Nest Fern" I have ever seen!. Thanks for the photo. and how lucky to have this massive plant grace your landscape.

Forgot to mention--this plant does have about a bushel barrel full of decaying leaves and debris in its crown. I think that's why it grows so well.

Wonderful to get images of a plant that is growing where it is "supposed" to be, and what they look like when they do!
Thank you for this photo!
