Pig waste on compost pile? And piggy pics!

Montezuma, NM(Zone 5b)

My DH just brought over three sows early this week. One had 7 4-day old babies. And as of yesterday morning, we have 12 2-day oldersters and 10 more 1-day oldsters. He's keeping them in our greenhouse/barn to ensure a higher mortality than the workers out at the ranch had been getting. And, since he does all the doctoring it's much easier for him than driving out to the ranch whenever he's needed, pluse giving us more home time!

We'll only have sows and their babies, probably no more than three at a time, for farrowing and a short time after. And, I think DH only expects this once a month.

I'm wondering how pig waste is for composting. DH told me that it isn't like cow or horse manure but is more like human waste and not great for composting. Anyone know? DH has drainage pipe coming out of greenhouse and wants me to tell him where to put it. Hmmmm?

Do we need to connect this to septic?

Oh and here is a pic of sow with her 12 1-day old babies taken just yesterday. They are so cute!

Thanks for any suggestions.
