Hello Hello Hello everybody. Thanks Brogie, Kooger and gardenwife for your welcoming emails.
I was surfing looking for info on Tomatos
I ususally start seed myself but I've found no time to do it myself this year so I might have to go with store bought plants and live with what selection is available.
I was also looking for information on dieseases for tomatos. I lost almost all of my 40 plants that I started from seed last year on account of some virus. It was a damp year for us and not very high temp. Plus I had someone watering them who thought my direction on placing water at the base of the plants was stupid and insited on watering from above - "just like rain". I'm trying to find some digital photos I took of them last year.
Well, I need to do something to ward off and mitigate future disease outbreaks.
By the looks of these forums, I figure I should be able to get all the information I could ever need eiother directly or through references.
I don't have any pictures available but this hockey team photo. I'm the bald guy in back with my wife on my left in the middle
What a GREAT place!

Welcome to DG, BudZander. I hope you find the info you need (I'm sure you will).
Hi, BudZander and welcome to Dave's Garden! With all the friendly experts here I'm sure you'll learn all the answers to your questions, and then some. I think Herbie43 has published a book on tomatoes, and I wouldn't be surprised if others have as well. So, you're in good hands.

It's great to see you here. Great picture. I hope your wife will enjoy Daves as much as you do. It really is a great place. Don't hesitate to ask for help for your tomato problems on that forum. There are some very knowledgeble people over there.
Welcome Budzander! Is Zander your last name? I used to hang out with a Marie Zander years ago. Of course you are from a different part of the country, but it's not that common of a name, is it?
Hi there BudZ,
Welcome from another near Chicagoan. Dave's Garden is a great place to learn about common and rare plants, lots of great features to learn about and use. Hope to see you around the Tomato forum,
Eileen
Welcome BudZander, lots of information here and the nicest gardeners you could ask for.
welcome welcome welcome.
Hi, Bud! I grew up in Northbrook, IL. We moved to Ohio when I was 13, so I've lived here longer than I did there. Haven't been back since 1995, but remember the weather.
