Are you leaving the in containers, or planting in the ground? It's gonna be a jungle there by August.

Montgomery, AL(Zone 8a)

I have about half in double pots and half in single pots in the ground. It will be a jungle by the end of May. I think I have around 300 give or take a few. Hope my neighbors do not have allergys. They want be able to stay outside after dark.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

That's what mine looked like few weeks ago.. Now they are getting more leaves.. I am disappointed that I have lost about 10 brugs. THey are rottening down to the roots! :o(

Montgomery, AL(Zone 8a)

I just removed all winter growth leaves just before taking these pics. They looked bad and would have died anyway.
I really put the fert to them. Last week I used 35 pounds of time release on them. The week before I used Cal-mag and before that I used rabbit poo. I almost put too much on some.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

hummer_nut....just for my own info. Is it possible to put too much fertilizer on a brug?? What will happen if you do?

Montgomery, AL(Zone 8a)

Yes you can. The leaves will turn brown and/or get crisp and the buds will fall off. I know this for real. I have and will probably do it again. If this happens, you need to flush the root ball with plenty of plain water. The brugs will recover.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Thank you hummer....I am not one to fertilize too often, but I have heard that brugs need alot of fertilizer. I guess I just have to figure out, how much alot is without over-doing it!

Grady, AL(Zone 8a)

I went in the night and dug 'em all up :) now your neighbor's allergies are safe

I better leave work and go check on them. The last time I did over half had almost been taken over by spider mites. Hope you did not get those, but I am willing to share all of my mites and other critters.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Hope you are keeping busy?

Looks like you have your summer cut out for you. Don't let them durned spidermites put a damper on your blooms. They usually get on mine just as plants are setting buds, then they drop, (the buds, not the mites).

Montgomery, AL(Zone 8a)

They will get a taste of Advil this afternoon and tomorrow with a followup of alcohol Friday.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL. Larry, they have a hangover?

Montgomery, AL(Zone 8a)

Just so I do not mislead anyone in jest, the Advil and alcohol is for me, half of my brugs are being a pain just now. I was going to put Avid on them today, but it was too windy when I got home from work. Tomorrow Avid and Thursday peroxide. If that does not do it, then isotox. Hope the newbies knew I was joking.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

The Advil and alcohol sounds good to me. Avid is a great product for mites. Hope it works for you.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

hummer...you were kidding...uh, oh...I hope my brugs like it OK! I wondered why it was the advil first, instead of second!

Just joking...I hadn't really gotten to do it yet!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

LOL Larry.

Montgomery, AL(Zone 8a)

An ya'll think I'm an expert. I am a pert, whatever that means, but not an expert.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Well, I thought it was shampoo, but here is what the dictionary says about pert. Remember, this is what the dictionary says, not me. LOL!

1 a : saucily free and forward : flippantly cocky and assured b : being trim and chic : JAUNTY c : piquantly stimulating
2 : LIVELY, VIVACIOUS
- pert·ly adverb
- pert·ness noun

Montgomery, AL(Zone 8a)

That's me!!!!!!!! and good night. 4 am comes early.
