So now I know what a rosamond pod looks like.

I never had Rosamond.. What did you crossed with?

Rosamond have been on my want list for long long time!!!

Thank you for posting these pictures. I have some pods from crosses I made last fall and it really helps to see what ripening pods look like. The two pods on Whiskers just got mushy on the outside (no, they hadn't been frozen) but were still greenish. The seeds are big, dark brown & definitely ripe. The first Rosamond pod turned yellow. The second one (Nov. 7 cross) is getting less green. I won't touch it for a while. Pods on other plants (Sept & Nov crosses) are still quite green & firm. Being patient is tough!

I love growing out seeds :) The ones you brought me at GARU last fall should bloom this summer. Where you been for so long? Linda

sewcrazy, they should ripen quickly as soon as your nighttime temps warm up.

How do you know when the pods are "ripe" enough? Do they change color (from green to brown) or get wrinkled looking???

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Wow! Nice one.

I'm no expert, but I think, or in my experience, they start to turn brown and get mushy.

It is a nice pod!
