He was hitting every blossom. This could be your plant, rylaff. This was growing at entrance to Fullerton Arboretum when we went to get native plants at their saturday sale. [I'm still in OC,Ca] DD sez is cuphea.

Wow, what an awesome shot!!!!!!!!!
And it's not like she has latest and greatest gear -- she took this one hand-held on the fly (sorry) with my old digi-cam (.3 MP Mavica)... it's NOT the equipment that makes the photographer!
In 6 months she is taking pics I never got in 4 years... heck it only took her 3 weeks before I had to say, "Hate to tell ya, but your camera can't DO that!!!"
Wait til you see her non-macro Macros!
