Variegated Wandflower, Corrie’s Gold Gaura, Variegated White Gaura 'Corrie’s Gold'
Gaura lindheimeri

Corrie's Gold Gaura's blooms are predominately white, but have tinges of pink. They are formed on racemes which stand well above the plant on long stems. The pink buds are attractive as well. Shown in April. (San Antonio, Tx.)

Very nice photos, thank you, --- mine are in full bloom now. When they begin to expire, I cut off small beginning plants from stems and put them back in the ground. Also divide root ball. I have to tie them up for they are uncontrollable in small garden " four foot sprays" . Unless planted high up on another level or in a hanging basket. They even come up in cracks in my driveway, many feet away. Is this from seed? For I have never seen a seed.

I am glad you liked the photos. They were a little difficult to take because as you know, the bloom stalks move in the wind. I am sure that your new plants are from seeds. I haven't had any come up from seed so far and have never seen the seeds. The blooms do sprawl and after the blooms fade, I cut them back to the foliage level to tidy them up. I have never seen the seeds because they don't have time to form before I cut the bloom stalk back. I will have to leave some faded blooms and let the seed pods form in order to observe the seeds. The seeds are inside small seed pods. They are supposed to be about the size of a large caraway seed. I had never thought to take stem cuttings and start new plants. Thanks for the suggestions for propagating them and the other information that you provided.

Vi, not only are the blooms delicately beautiful, the leaf variegation sets it apart from other gaura. Thanks for your comment.

I hope you have good luck with the seeds. Please let us know how they do.

I was wondering if your Gaura has a fragrance, the wild Gaura that grows here G. Biennial and G. Demaree's has such a delectable smell ,the fields waff of it. I don't think it is permissible to show a picture of them here though. Thank you so much for the lovely picture of your Gaura, and I'ts variegated also! WOW.

I have this in my garden too, and I love it! The variegation is wonderful, and this gaura is SO easy! Mine blooms constantly, I whack it back when it trails out onto the driveway, and it just goes back to blooming. Great stuff.......should be used in local landscapes more than they are.

Bill, I haven't noticed a fragrance as of yet. Thanks for your comments.

MKJ, mine has been blooming all summer too. It adds such a delicate feel to the garden and yet it seems to be a pretty tough plant. THanks for your comments.
