Thank you, DAVE!!!!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Hi Dave, I am a very open person, and believe that everyone should be able to voice there opinion and I feel that some people overstepped there boundary... I am new to all of this, and propagation, I am completely confused about, but I have lied low until this.... I am learning as many other newbies here, I am trying to learn different ways, and YES I have laid low for the last few months because of the many outwardly discussions that were harsh and just plain cruel... In fact, I haven't responded since Tonny and Lenne had been referred to as a Big White bird that someone might eat on a holiday. That to me, is way out of the context of what should be spoken of publicly.... That to me was plain rude... I spent $15 dollars for membership to this club, and I feel as though I have earned my share of knowlege.... I will still be here, as this will be my only entry into this discussion, but I feel that the rest of the members should ignore the audacity of the troublemakers... I feel this is one of the most informative websites concerning information on this beautiful plant, whether it be yellow, pink, purple, red, or whatever colors may be produced, I just wish that some people would refrain from inappropiate comments on this forum... Thank you for creating a place that we may all discuss the various ways to create and grow these wonderful plants....

Sincerly,
Lisa K.

Well said Lisa! And please join us in discussions, not all lead astray. Actually very few do... I am sorry that some people get out of line...

I second the thanks to Dave and Terry and the rest of the staff that I'm unaware of, for managing such a fun place. I've spent my entire winter here!!!

I agree with Groovy, Lisa
Please join in the discussions. DG is not only about the beautiful plants and knowledge but the people growing those plants.
At DG, like any garden, sometimes a little weeding is necessary but the end result is well worth it. We hope to see you on the board!
And I third (lol) the thanks to Dave, Terry and staff for DG. :)

Lisa, there are so many friendly, knowledgeable and sharing people here. Please don't let the very few meanies turn you away from us. You sound like a nice person that we would like to get to know. In fact, you have to be nice because you are a fellow Texan, and everyone knows Texas are very nice people. LOL

Yes thank you Dave for banning Tonny and Lenne.

??????????????????????

Me thinks this should be left well enough alone.
I came back to the forum shortly after the chaos and the banning occured. Until today i had no idea who was banned, or for why.
Can we just please LEAVE IT ALONE and get on with creating the perfect brug???? Personally, i think that even making a referance to any of it, is simply trying to get the pot stirred again.
Please, before the Great Dave pulls or forum forever, can we act like adults and let the past stay there?

WHY THE BANNING? IS THIS SOME KIND OF CULT OR WHAT??
what do you do to be banned??Tonny& Lenne?
I have been so happy with the info from others, swaps & friendships gained. Had no idea this was a place to be "BANNED"!

Within this thread is a prime example of what makes the job of managing this forum so difficult. I have NO idea if Delisa is/was a friend of Tonny and Lene's, which would make the "thank you" above sarcastic, or just the opposite, and it's a genuine expression of thanks to Dave. Without knowing, I'll choose to take it at face value.

GagalinFl, when a member here goes on a rampage, posting profane or nonsensical messages, calling people names, or otherwise acting in a way that violates the Acceptable Use Policy they are asked or told to leave. That's not a cult-ish response, it's just common sense and good business.

Imagine eating in a nice, quiet restaurant, and suddenly someone erupts, runs around trying to hit other patrons, shouting obscenities, and basically making a complete spectacle of themselves. Would you prefer that the restaurant management ignore them or remove them? If they ignored them, would you linger over coffee and dessert, or pay your check and leave ASAP? What if this same scenario played itself out every time you patronized the restaurant - how long before you refused to go back?

In the nearly four years that DG has been in existence, there have been probably a couple dozen people (give or take) that have been "banned". Some of them would probably say they were treated unfairly, but there are always two sides to the story, and I'd say that is still a pretty good track record considering there are nearly 92,000 members.

Terry, I guess I chose the wrong word(cult), but I had no idea that anyone would be anyway but nice at DG.I know I have enjoyed my time spent here.I certainly believe that the majority of our 92,000 members appreciate this site, and all the efforts of Dave & co. to keep it a clean, informative, & pleasant site.

Glad I missed it - I hate arguments or discord of any kind. I do feel that maybe sometimes there should be a warning, or maybe a 30 day suspension. Perhaps there were warnings that I am not aware of.
