Pink Carousel Verbena

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

I know this is not the correct forum to post this thread, but since it is the only one I ever post on, I'm going to ask anyway. A few years ago I purchased this verbena at a local nursery, but have never found it again. It was my all time favorite verbena, but was one of the things that disappeared when I had my beds weeded. Does anyone know of a mail order nursery where it might be purchased? None of the local nurseries have ever carried it since that one time.

Sorry, Mini Wish I could help you out.

And don't worry, EVERY forum is correct when it comes to plants. lol

I did a quick Google search and found it avaiable at Hatchett Creek Nursery

Oh who cares Sylvia, we are all family here! I love verbena. I will look for this one when I get home. I notice tons of new ones of these.

I've never seen this one Sylvia. I hope you can find it.

Rikerbear, thanks for the info, but they appear to be a wholesale nursery. It says you have to go through a broker, darn it.

Kell, if you find any, please let me know. It really is a pretty verbena and a fast grower. I just don't understand why they only had it one year in the nurseries locally. I had the same thing happen with a beautiful light pink mandevilla that my daughter gave me for Mother's Day 3 years ago. It had humongous pale pink flowers and was a very heavy bloomer all summer long. It didn't make it through the winter, even though I kept it covered on my covered patio. None of the nurseries have carried since, and in looking on the web, neither does the grower. It seems to have been replaced by Moonlight Parfait (a double) and Tango Twirl (a triple). Moonlight Parfait is not nearly as heavy a bloomer and the Tango Twirl didn't do well for me at all last summer.

I wonder if you have the name you can get your local nursery to order you one Sylvia. I know mine will do that sometimes. I hate doing it though because I love to go thru lots of them to pick out mine.

Mini, if you got o the FAQ section it does say they will sell to private individuals if you order a full 3 flats (200 plugs)
Maybe a CO-OP is in the works???? :-)

Hey, Riker, that might be a good idea.

Kell, there was only one nursery here that carried it when I purchased mine. I asked them about it last year, but they weren't helpful at all in offering to order it. I guess I'll try again.

I'll check our nursery when I go next time. I know they have carried some pinks, but I never paid attention to the names.

I will look also when I get home, Sylvia. I know they have tons of different kinds of verbena the last year or 2. I hear there are great new ones for 2004. I always have to buy any new plants I see.

Kell, I think you, Shirley and I were triplets separated at birth. At the very least, we must have some relatives somewhere in common. The gene thing was passed along. LOL
