Froggy made a home

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

I have this tree frog that has made a home inside a calyx where I have a pod growing on Butterfly. He has been there for weeks, and will not relinquish his home, despite the growing pod that keeps making it tighter and tighter in there.

I am thinking I should name the progeny of this cross with froggy names, if I get any worth naming. Y'all give me some ideas.

Pod just keeps getting bigger, his space getting smaller :-)

That is funny Mary. He must feel secure in there.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

LOL! Yes I agree with Brugie.. Feel secure in there.. or maybe he's protecting that pod for you from any bugs???

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

What great pictures!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

So cute!!! All I can think of is Croaker! LOL

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Those little green frogs are so cute and I have them all over hiding on leaves and and in little areas like old calyxes. The lizards and frogs I find very entertaining.

Canadaigua, NY(Zone 6b)

Well he is green, you could always call it Kermit's Comfort. Great pic's. I love browsing around in here. One day when I have my own home, the lawn will be covered with brugs. Mere

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Its adorable!!!!

I say pollinate some more so he can move into another calyx, kinda like a froggy condo.....or timeshare.....LOL....

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

What a cutie! Good thing he doesn't eat brugs. I wonder if he is eating the bad bugs for you.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

He is so cute.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Mary, I had one last fall in the greenhouse on a Brug. I came in to get the camera and I haven't seen him since. I guess he didn't want his picture taken. LOL

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Just got this one in an email...thought it might have been your froggy that posed for it. ;)

LOL Lilypon! Too cute!
HPluver, don't you have a spot for just one brug?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Cute picture Lilypon!
I have lived here for 30 years and have never seen a frog.

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

I have pollinated about 3 more flowers on this plant, just waiting to see if they took.

Nobody can think of froggy names? I think Frog Prince would be a nice one, and maybe Froggy went a courtin', bound to be more though...

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Pam, cute picture.

Mary, I'm not good with name. Frogette, LeapFrog, Frosch (German), Grenouille (French), Rana (Spanish), and that's it. Maybe Ribbett. LOL!!!

Canadaigua, NY(Zone 6b)

Yeah Kell. I do. And I would have to keep it potted b/c of my zone anyway. But where will I keep it in the winter? There's just not enough room! I'll just live vicariously through all of you. Or maybe I'll become a frog and "rent" a brug condo from one of you. Mere

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Just take a little cutting in fall and grow it inside on your window sill till spring. Then pot it up to a bigger pot outside and let it grow big for summer flowering. You can do it Mere!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Mary, your froggie is so cute!

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

How about Frog Heaven. He is so cute and brugs are as close to heavens beauty as we can get in a garden.

Whitewater, WI

Adorable, Mary. Maybe pick up a "friend" for your little one and then run a promotion...."Free tree frog with every purchase of a brug". lol

And they feel so cold when you touch them. They sure aren't afraid of people.

Washington, PA(Zone 6b)

Oh I love him! He's so cute!!

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Frog abuse I tell you! You should remove the pod so the cute little bugger has more room. Poor boy is going to be out in the cold pretty soon. LOL....

Great picture. I LOVE those little frogs.

p.s. Maybe if you kiss him it will make the pod turn into a double pink seed producer...

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

or a pink prince....LOL

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

cc, that's a cool name if I get a good pink from the seeds, Pink Prince.

Here are some suggestions I have received
Polly Wog
Frog Heaven
Frogette,
LeapFrog,
Frosch (German),
Grenouille (French),
Rana (Spanish),
Ribbett.
Croaker
Kermit's Comfort

I am probably getting the cart before the horse, there may not be enough nice brugs in that pod to name then, but I surely thank everybody for the suggestions.

Someday, years from now, there will be people wondering where those brugs came from with those frog names, lol.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Mary, I hope you get some beauties from this pod.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Really Mary, I hope you get your very own Pink Prince!
