Brug seeds sprouted

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

I have been ignoring my flat of brug seeds for several weeks now....no activity. I was walking by the domed tray this morning and was shocked to discover 5 baby brugs.
I'm SO excited!!!!!
Now what do I do? (newbie here)
I know I should wait for some 'true' leaves to develope before transplanting, do I need to do anything special at this stage?

Just keep plenty of light on them and as close to them as you can, within two inches. That will keep them from getting too leggy while they are developing their true leaves. Sounds like you are on your way to growing brugs from seed. It is a great experience.

Thanks Brugie :-)

Hey rikerbear,
I just had my first three seedlings sprout this week too. They are all different crosses. It seemed like they were never going to do anything. I have some different Daturas sprouted and they are all growing so well, but my Brugs. have been really slow! I'm going to do what Brugie says and maybe we can raise our babies together!! We're going to have such beautiful babies!!Ha!

Way to go!! sounds like you are on your way,Brugie has some good advice,I hope you see some great blooms this year.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Yay!! Marc! I am so happy for ya!!! When you go to transplant them, just loosen the soil a little around the roots, and pull by a leaf. Its much easier for the leaf to grow back, then its whole torso! :o)
Congratulations again!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Rikerbear, crossing fingers that you get flowers this summer! You will be hooked for sure once you see blooms!

Brown City, MI(Zone 5a)

I have 4 little seedlings too! It really is exciting.

When I transplant, should they be planted in soil right up to their first true leaves? (Like you do for tomato plants)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I don't plant mine that deep because by the time they get their true leaves, the trunk is usually about three inches, so I sink about an inch and a half in the soil. I guess this would be something each person would do differently. You think this is exciting....just wait until those first buds come out on the plant. It will drive you crazy waiting to see what you have. LOL!

Brown City, MI(Zone 5a)

Thanks Brugie for the information.

I can't believe how hooked, excited, addicted ..... etc. I have gotten over Brugs. It's great fun.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

It will get worse.....LOL!!
