I got this new acalypha in Chicago this weekend also..very intense red throughout..it looks like Kiluea form.Will be nice in this years Hawaiian garden.

I found this at Jamaica Gardens nursery on Chicagos north side near Glencoe Ill. They have marvelous plants for outdoors in summer.
Kyle, do they sell on line? that is a great looking plant.
Roz, I don't think they do.....I might take some cuttings a little later on though.
Kyle. your advice about the fern tree was right on target; all it needed was to be sprayed on the trunk and leaves , not a lot but just to keep it cool in the hot sun. The plant has put on two new long fronds; this is one fast growing plant. It looks so much better today than a week ago. I may be glad after all that I found one!
