Fertilizer help 15-7-15...

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Forgive me but I continue to have trouble getting around on this list. How in the world do you know who the poster is replying to and where do you go to see if there are replies to questions you might have asked???

Re the Fertilizer: Here I am in the Mississippi delta, some of the most fertile land in the US, with many farms as large as some big cities, and I cannot find 15-7-15 fertilizer. I've not searched AR, MS, TN and the internet and I cannot locate it. And, I might add, this is the first and only time I've stumped Google. Does anyone have any idea where I might order some???

Also, if anyone replies, where should look for the post??? TIA!!

Sherrylike, i am not sure where you got the numbers 15-7-15. you likely need what the farmers in your area use for tomatoes. That is certainly what i would use. The best way to grow brugs in your area, is talk to the farmers in your area. there are many factors in growing brugs and there is not a one answer fits all.....
talk to someone who grows tomatoes locally!!!!!!!!!!!. i use osmocote with minors, can't remember the #s, but the middle number is lower and there is only sand here.

You may not even need much fertilizer in your area.....

Thanks, Arlene!! I suspect that I need something because the only brug I had, until recently, only bloomed, once, in the fall. I now have three, two from FL. We love FL plants because they seem to LOVE it here. One plant has bloomed, but is covered in teeny tiny babes. The other plant is covered in blooms about 1 inch to 4 inches. I'm so excited. My two new brugs are in much more fertile soil than my other one, but I still 'think' they will need to be fed to bloom all summer. Do you grow yours in full sun??? The guy that brought me mine does, but I now have them in part sun/part shade...SherryLike

Brugs are pretty heavy feeders, you might need to use some kind of fetilizer at some point. full sun for me is 5-6 hours. mostly i give mine some midafternoon shade, some more, some less. they defintely bloom better for me with more sun. I sure wish i had your soil!

Sherry, I bought Peter's Excel with minors, that is 15-7-15 last year. It can be bought reasonably, at least a lot cheaper than I paid for it last year. I'll email you with the site and 800 number.

Oh, Shirley, thank you soooooo much re the Peter's Excel. I've been all over the internet and to four states, looking for it. SLke

Sherry, I use the Peters Excel too, and last year was the first year I used it. Boy, could I tell a difference. My brugs are prettier, greener, and bloom much more. It is hot here though and my brugs bloom best now until about June 1, and then again in November through December.

Smart move. The more you order, the easier it gets. LOL!!
