Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I have grown vitafolia for a while, but finally managed to get a coccinea.

Love the vibrant color. Very pretty.

I have lost so many of that one, I quit counting! I like Vitifolia just as well and spidermites etc. don't bother it as much.

It is beautiful. I just got one and it bloomed but didn't know which one. They didn't have a tag.

Are the filiments dark red in the coccinea? Is that the difference? Here is a Vitifolia.

I am interested in Coral Glow. It is supposed to be hardy to 25f. Any thoughts on it? This is a file shot of it.I like Vitifolia, but I think 32f or lower would kill it.

I know the filaments are different and the leaves are a different shape. The vitafolia is trilobed and coccinea is not. I dont have coral glow yet. That one is on my list.

I had coral glow for a couple of years. The second year it was a heavy bloomer and grower. I like it, but didn't have room for it the way it grew. It totally covered a nearby six foot tall rose of sharon and nearly killed it. I guess it just rambled too much for me or maybe I needed a 20 ft. tall trellis.

I am looking into Coral Seas, they are hardy to 27f and below if the roots are protected. They have them in 5gals at a nursery I go to. They said it is a grower. I am going to put it in a corner by itself. Thanks for the help!

Oh I am so jealous of you guys with the red passifloras. So pretty.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

I've got a Coral Glow...last year it was a tiny plant & now it is a monster. I hope I have the luck Brugie had and it will bloom for me this summer. It is one of the plants I moved to my workplace for the winter...now I'm a bit worried about how much more it will grow!

I've always admired the shape of the coccinea but maybe the vitofolia will be the next one on my want list. By any chance do either come true from seed?

Hi Donna :)
Your vitafolia looks gorgeous...I have seen it for sale at Canadian suppliers. Now to find out "where" I found them. ;)

Donna, that looks like my vitafolia. Are the leaves tri-lobed? My vitafolia.

Hey! Donna check this out.Mine is called Victoria! We seem to like the same stuff. Kind of like Clare, it's hard not to love these beautiful plants. I still want Coral Sea it's a super grower, but I need a plant in a more shaded spot I think it will work. It can take the cold better than Vitafolia.
