Hi from Atlanta!

McDonough, GA(Zone 7b)

Hello to everyone! Guess I'm not really new...joined last summer, but I haven't been posting and I've rarely even looked in. What a waste! I've been really nosing around the different forums for the last week or so and discovered what a cool site this really is.

I live on the south side of Atlanta and have been an avid gardener for about the last 10 years. My yard's about an acre and I'm doing my best to turn it into one big garden, much to the chagrin of DH who, for some reason, likes grass. I've been mostly into perennials and have just discovered the joy of annuals this spring, which will, of course, necessitate yet another flowerbed...or three!

My newest interesting aquisition is a 'Twisty Baby' locust tree - very oriental looking...maybe a Japanese garden...hmm...

I'm considering looking into the Master Gardener program in my area. I don't actually know what that is, nor do I know any master gardeners, but it sounds promising.

I look forward to getting to know the folks here at DG, and am always happy to share seeds, cuttings, or whatever.

Happy Spring! from petalpusher.

Welcome Petalpusher7,
I agree with you..flower beds are better than turf grass any day! I also have very positive things to say about our Master Gardener program here in Iowa. My DW and I went through the classes together and although the learnin' was great, it's the people you meet and form gardening friendships with that are the real joy. The same holds true of Dave's Garden. Glad to welcome you to the friendliest gardening spot on the Internet.

Hey, Petalpusher, glad you joined in. I did the same thing, mostly looked things up on the PDP for a few months. I don't remember why I finally started looking around on the forums, but with a little encouragement from roadrunner & justmelisa, I finally joined in on the fun. You're going to love it here! (A word of caution: this is VERY addictive! But that's not really bad!) :)

Welcome petalpusher, I too didn't do much my first year except 'lurk' and I'm still not overly wordy, but Welcome to the very best garden site on the www. Look forward to seeing more of you in the garden.

Hi petalpusher! I met you last May at Azalea's plant swap in Jonesboro. Wasn't it fun? You're just in time for our next one on May 1st at High Falls State Park near Jackson. Look for our many threads in the Roundup Forum!

We have a new member that just finished the Master Gardener's course in Fayetteville, am hoping he will be coming also. He will be at the Experiment Garden Plant Sale, in Griffin, next weekend too.

Anywho, welcome back!

Hi from Villa Rica, GA too!!!!!! I just kind of jumped right on in here, b'cause my best friend, who was my neighbor for 8 years was already a member, so that kinda helped me out. And I had a yard full of things to trade. Look forward to chatting w/ya and trading!!!!

I didn't know about the plant sale in Griffin. Where do I go to find out more about it?

Thanks & Welcome!
