New member with newbie question

I joined last week and have posted a few times.
I'm wondering why my posts have a little "Edit" tag
in the header when other's do not. Am I supposed
to turn this off, somehow? Please advise.

PS. I'm building a brand new garden in Mooresville, NC.
Recently re-located to Zone 7a from 6a (Pelham, NY).

The little edit tag is a button that let's you edit your own post. That way if you post something and notice later that you mis spelled something or for some other reason needed to amend your post, you have the ability to do so.

Anything blue is clickable. Even our names where we post. It will take you to our personal page and you can send us an email.

There is a whole forum with frequently asked questions about site use...it's a big help to newbies.

You will learn a lot along the way, there is so much you can do on DG. One could stay here all day......wait, some do :) If you have any questions, feel free to ask anybody or go to Search or FAQ, etc. And if all else fails, Dave doesn't even mind if you bother him 'once in a while'....

So, when you view your own posts you see the "Edit" tag, but when you view others' posts, you don't see one?

Others see the edit tag in their own posts. Only you have the ability to edit your own posts...they can edit theirs...so the tag only shows up if you can do the edit.

I had to say 'hi'! I used to live in Mooresville in the mid 70's. I was in 7th grade and we had recently moved from Charleston, SC (my hometown) so I was pretty devastated, but I remember it as a cute and friendly little town. This brought on a real trip down memory lane!

Welcome from another North Carolinian! We have several very active NC members here. Where's Mooresville?

I'm in the mountains, waay down in the western toe of NC.

Mooresville is about 30 miles north of Charlotte, in the "mid-western" part of the state. We're located on Lake Norman, which is a large, man-made lake.

Cool... I know the Lake Norman area and it's wonderful! Weccome again to DG!

And I know "Lake Norman" and "Lake Norman Spider"

tee hee, the real Lake Norman is gorgeous too!
