Roadside Gaura, Wild honeysuckle, Bee Blossom, Kisses
Gaura suffulta ssp. suffulta (kisses)

The Roadside Gaura is a Texas and Oklahoma wildflower that has white sweet smelling blooms that are about 1/2 inch to 1 inch wide that fade to pink when maturing. They have dark red anthers. Shown in early April. (San Antonio, Tx.)

The PlantsFiles says not applicable for hardiness. What does that mean? Beautiful plant. ;-)

I have found this plant listed as a native annual not a perennial. I think that "Not applicable" means that as an annual, it dies back in the winter to reseed in the spring so the hardiness zones are not applicable. This would do well in a rock garden.

They die back here.

Okie-dokie. It sounds like it should be from around here but, I've not seen it. Got seed?

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

I sure don't have any seed ... sorry.

Princeton, TX(Zone 8a)

I might have the seed this season. I am making sure it gets pollinated and will be collecting the seed throughout summer and fall. Lovely flower. When they grow bigger and flower stalks get taller - the way the flowers sway in the wind is just beautiful and very delicate... Ahh....

It is great that you are making sure that it is polinated and will be collecting seeds. The blooms as they dance in the wind are indeed enchanting.
