Tell me you don't want this. :P
I'm planning on doing this sometime this year. :D Mum has always wanted a stream/pond/waterfall- well so have I!
Imma use cement- and probably many layers of RRL (if I can find it- if not- I'll just use cement.) *Rubber Roofing liner*
Pond liners cost way too much.

Help me out here guys-
I am BAD when it comes to math- I mean REALLY bad. Doi Doi- hehe.

At $.44 a sq foot how much would it cost for me to buy-

50' x 100' piece?

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I think that comes out to 220$.

P.S. Here is my pond last March that I made the year before. If you need any advice, just holler. I have definately learned from trial and error.

That adds up to $2,200.00 if I am not mistaken. 50' x 100' = 5000 square feet. 5000 x .44 = 2,200.

That seems a little high for roofing liner. I got mine for .29 a sq. ft. and it was 20' x 50'. I was under the impression that the bigger the piece of liner, the less it costs per sq. ft.

Wow- that's a big differance in price! :O

Imma buy it in town so it should be alot less. :D
I've already dug a few ponds Ryla- just not as big as my next one will be.
I think I've decided on a concrete pond now- it should last longer than a liner. I'll probably be asking you some questions later, hehe.

Now I wanna know if I can use chicken wire or a thicker fence wire as "rebar" in the concrete. ( thinks this is cheaper than real rebar).

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I have used chicken wire for other concrete projects with success (like making fake boulders). I would think it depends on the size of the pond and how think you are going to pour the concrete.

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm not sure how thick it will be poured.
I wanna make the pond pretty big and read somewhere the concrete had to be pretty thick? I'm not awake yet- I have to go to work at 9:30 and my lip is one huge blister-LOL. (too much sun)- I'll pop back on here when I get home from work. Thanks!!!

Mableton, GA(Zone 7b)

It's $2,200.

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

$2,200- I'll PASS! LOL!!!!!!!

Too rich for my blood- Imma build a cement pond and pray to God it doesnt crack. :))

Erwin, TN(Zone 7a)

Chicken wire is not enough--6x6 concreet reinforcing wire will cost less than most fencing and is heavier gage/ there for stronger--if you dont want it too crack--I recomend fibermesh concreete additive-and put a sprinkler on the concreete as soon as it is finnished and it doesn't scratch easily with your finger nail-usually 2 hours after finishing is complete-leave the sprinkler on for 3 days--than fill the pond or continue the sprinkler until the 7th day-at 7 days the concreete will reach 80% strength and will be much less prone to cracking--I also recomend 6 mill plastic under the concreete to maintain uniform moisture in the concreete as it sets and this also reduces cracking.and prevents leaks from minor cracks-until the pond seals it self, later with organic material from your plants and fish.
