About 27 years ago I belonged to the Bromeliad Society. They were so hard to find then! I was mesmerized by them! Now HD has ones I would have killed for way back then!

Have not been there, but there was a place down in Monterey I used to go years ago.
I agree that a lot has changed in the last couple of decades, with great plants of all sorts to be had at places like Ace Hardware in Oakland and our local Longs Drugs will often have great prices on plants. Our local Yard Birds hardware/home center has a great nursery dept. which received a major remodel and expansion last year. Those added to the local well known high-end nurseries make the Bay Area a plant lover's paradise.
And Navlet's has opened a brand new store about 4 minutes from my house.......it's a dangerous place and I have to pass it on my way to Safeway.
