Favorite Brug Seedling

Freedom, PA(Zone 6a)

This Brug seed came from Cala, it's a L'Amour X Butterfly seedling. The leaves are so shinny and dark green and very puckered. I have a few more of this cross but they don't look like this one.

Last year one of my Butterfly X L'Amour seedlings was just like that. It was mammoth! The leaves were the best green and so puckered and so huge!! The entire brug got so huge! The flowers were a lovely yellow.

Do you have a photo of it Kell?

Glad you are feeling better, we missed you!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Did you keep this one Kell??

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

WOW! What a leaf! I would be keeping it and pollinating to it, or with it.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Yes!! And I have 2 to send to Susie and Tracey. The leaves are the best color green I have ever seen. It was a sad story. I only got 1 bloom for the crown broke off in a rain storm in November it got so top heavy when wet. It had tons of buds. Only one bud was left just at the Y and it bloomed for me. I was so thankful. If I had not gotten to see it I think I would have burst. Then another terrible thing befell it, but I can't remember what right now.

It will be interesting to see if cbrandenburg gets the same color.

That's a wonderful yellow bloom. This brug is growing so differently than it sister seedlings. I think these leaves are going to get large. It's all ready 3 times the size of the sister seedlings that were planted the same time. And the leaf color is awesome. I love the size of your leaves on your plant, can't wait to see what mine looks like all grown up and blooming. I started this plant in early December so I hope it blooms for me this year.

Kell do you remember how long your plant took to bloom?

Cathy

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Great bloom Kell. I wish that picture would enlarge for me though so I could take a close look. I love the leaves.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Wow, Kell, great looking Brug. I love the leaves on it and the bloom is beautiful.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Was this one Tom had the mishap with?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Root, I can't remember what Tom did....... remind me so I can get mad all over again! You mean last year? This was planted in ground so not one he moved brutally to the front!

Can't wait to see what you get Cathy!

I really love this one Kell. I think I have some seedlings from that cross growing out. I probably should go check on them, we got an inch of rain last night!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

LOL!!! What the heck is that picture of??????

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Beautiful flower, Kell.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

That one is certainly worth keeping! Love the ones with the short flower coming out of calyx.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Oh yes, Kell, this is a beaut. That shot of the ground is excellent. LOL!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL. I had hoped no one would notice! Root got me going with his question about Tom. I had typed a whole fight story about me and Tom yesterday and his much loved grass. I even went out and took a picture of his grass. Then after I got done I decided you all would be so bored by it so I deleted that part and hit send, forgetting I had already attached a picture of his beloved grass.

LOL!! That is what we always fight over. Do you think he has some rare attachment disorder to grass that is no more? Or just passive aggressive! LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

If Tom likes to see green grass, he should come to Iowa to visit. I could put him on the mower and he could play all day. Our grass is so green now and very pretty.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

But it is not green Brugie and it is not even grass anymore. That is the fight! LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Well, time for Tom to give up the fight and let you put more color in the yard. LOL!!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Wait till you see what I do to my grass, after the sunroom goes on,I will be able to start the mower, leave it in one spot, turn it off and I'm done,LOL!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You need to talk to Tom, Root. Prioritize him. He is nuts on the subject. As if we have much lawn space anyway! LOL

Poor Cathy, I have turned this into a dead grass thread.
