as some of you know, i work for the postal service and i sometimes run accross cook books that for one reason or another cannot be delivered. i just found a book titled great cookies by carole walter. its over 350 pages of cookies, cookies and more cookies. some, such as rainbow cookies, rugalah and fig bars are cookies my dw makes often but then i see things i've never heard of such as "pfeffernusse" which are one of the oldest german cookies, and "blondies" and mississippi bayou bars. there is one called "hot chocolate wafer ice cream sandwiches" which sounds like something i would like. i wish i could give you all a list of everything in the book. along with the recipes there are a list of glazes used to coat the cookies etc. heres just a small example of the types of cookies
ebony and ivory tiles, french meringue gondolas, italian macaroons, honey roasted peanut butter cookies, krumcake, coconut lemon lime tassies, chinese almond cookies, crispy gingersnaps and the list goes on.
if anyone is looking for a certain recipe let me know and i will will see if its here.
