Panama, NY(Zone 5a)

It's dreary here, chilly and rainy, but everything is greening up. Monday was beautiful and I did some pruning and puttering. Yesterday was dry early on and I raked out a section (a very small section) of rose fence so that I can put some wood chip mulch down. Last night I heard the peeper frogs for the first time - and this morning they said something about mixed snow and rain later in the week. Ah, mud season. That time of year when spring is pushing and winter sometimes pushes back. We know who will win, though, so it's ok.

Yesterday went horribly skewed when we heard of the accident I wrote about in "a prayer request" and things are going to be grey all week, no matter the weather.

I will be working on the baby quilt for my DD in Kentucky today and praying a lot.

NJ, you must be so proud of that girl! She has done well, and I'm sure that there is a job waiting for her. It's sad that the need for Ag teachers is so slim anymore. My grandpa always thought if they were going to teach it, they should require everyone to take it so they know where the food comes from and how it's grown.

Mary, I love reading about your rides - I know I'll never be on a horse (not that I ever was much), but it's good to know you are out there.

Lisa, you be careful, scared of snakes - never, cautious - always! None of the snakes up here are poisonous with the exception of an occasional mountain rattler that wanders up from Pennsylvania. I guess it's just too cold for the dangerous ones.

Ruth, did you ever meet a kid that would put a coat on voluntarily?? I suspect our weekend predictions have a lot to do with your cooler temps.

Shoe, 50 is just about right for working outside! No sweat!

Ok, I know it gets said a lot, but knowing I can come here and ask for prayers and get cheered up at the same time means a lot. We are a scattered bunch, but I consider you all part of my family just like the community here. Thank you all so much.
