Wild Olive

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

These trees bloom off and on all the time, then all of a sudden shed their leaves, grow new ones and bloom in a few short weeks. They have been putting on a real show for the past month.

Suz, I wonder if this is what we call "sweet olive" here. Do they have a powerful smell? The flower looks the same.

Lisa, not sure. They sometimes call it "Mexican Olive" here. It does have a nice smell.

Mary, now that you mention it, you are right. Frannie has sweet olive, very fragrant, very tiny blooms. These blooms are large, like a catalpa flower sort of.
Jen, I think I'm getting settled in, lol.

I think this may be Texas Olive. It sure is pretty.
