Passion Flower, Hardy Passion flower (Passiflora x belotii)

Dearborn Heights, MI(Zone 6a)

Passion flower
Passiflora x belotii

Kept this in a pot and wintered it over under the lights indoors. (not hardy in Michigan).
Gave it just enough water to keep it happy. It just started putting on buds and the first one bloomed yesterday. This pic is from last summer.

Hi Daylily,

You have Passiflora x Alatocaerulea, also called Passiflora Belotii. It is a hybrid of Passiflora Caerulea. Passiflora Belotii is hardy to Zone 7 (0 degrees F).

She's right as always, but your shot is great. I have the same plant myself. What camera do you have?

LOL, Monterey. You are kind, but you give me too much credit:-) I'm learning, but I'm still quite capable of killing things!

Should I have this moved to another page?
The name on the plant stick is Passiflora caerulea.
I used a SONY DSC-F505, 2 MegaPixel digital.
I now have a 5 MegaPixel SONY DSC-F717.

This is my first time in Dave's Garden, I may be here all nite. Your flowers are absolutely amazing. I just got into flowers but mine are all "plain jane" I never even thought about flowers like this. I guess my blond roots were showing :) I just did all the dull things. I am so glad I stumbled onto this site I do vegetable gardening and that is how I got here. And if the vegetable part is as awesome as these flowers, I'm in heaven.
I guess my first question is where did you get the seed or plant, are they expensive? I guess I will find out if my thumb is green for flowers.
Does it make a difference, I live in Kentucky. Again your flowers are incredible!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Jamaica! Welcome to Dave's Garden!

Logee's has a wonderful selection of Passifloras. Check out this link: http://www.logees.com/store/ You have to figure out what U.S.D.A. cold zone you are in in order to figure out which ones you can plant in the ground and which ones you'll have to bring inside for the winter. Some are more hardy than others, and some are tropical.
