Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Lovely spring day this morning. A mite nippy, but not really cold. Of course all the humidity makes it feel cooler than it really is. Not good housecat going outside weather at all. I put Beverly, the cafe' cat who had been badly injured sometime in the past, was not happy when I took her outside for a few minutes and was glad to get back inside. She may well have arthritis tho she seems to move more freely than she use too. She fights and yowls so pitifully when I pick her up and walk to the door with her. I do it very seldom, but when she starts acting like she is so unhappy about everything in her life I let her have a reality check.

I think I'll try to cut some dead foliage off & put on the burning pile today. Nothing hard but a task that must be done. It still looks really tacky out there. I don't seem to do a very good job of cleaning in the fall.

Mary, that sounds like one wild weekend! Even worse for some other riders and horses. I'm glad your horses are under better control than that. I kept thinking of you all weekend and wondered how you were fareing.

I'm am very thankful we have been able to be so much a part of our grandchildren's lives. We've have 3 of them that spent years living with us while still having a relationship with their parents. It just wasn't possible for them to live with one or more parent at those times. 2 of them are now adults and Shad is back with his mother. I'm sorry your son won't have his grandparents when you move but his grandmother going with you for a while will help. Would they consider moving to Tennessee too? That would be so nice for your son.

A close friend of mine is so excited about getting her Mantis tiller. She'll probably order it this week. Maybe even today. She has wanted one for years and now her dream is about to come true. I am so happy for her. Now she will be able to till when SHE wants to instead of having to wait until her DH gets around to it. He is good about helping her but still she is is hampered by not being able to do it herself.

I just talked to the transmission shop. The old one is out and he hopes to have the new one in this afternoon. YEAH!!!!! I can hardly wait.

Must go let the poultry out of their house. I keep them in this long so that they will lay their eggs in there not all over the yard or hidden somewhere.

GOD bless and keep each and all of you.
