Getting rid of Snow on the Mountain

It's 52 (above), the sun is shining and water is running in the street. Time to start thinking about this summers projects.

I have a large patch of Snow on the Mountain that I want to eliminate and replace with other flowers.

Any one have success getting rid of Snow on the Mountain, and if so, how did you go about it?
