Good afternoon everyone. It is almost balmy out. Temps are in 70's - only got down to 60's through the night. Almost feels like a storm is brewing out there. We will probably go from blizzard weather to tornado weather too quickly.
Angel calved early this a.m. She has previously produced two prize winning heifers from a bull called Hostage. Julia has been hoping for a bull sired by Hostage and she finally got one. I sent her a birth announcement this a.m. She needed an "up" feeling has she has been kind of feeling down about different things going on in her life. Luckily Angel didn't have any birthing problems. Should say, lucky for dh, because I would have really "let him have it". I told dh two days ago that Angel was close cause she was moping around. He kept saying nah - she's still got a ways to go. All of our artif insem cows have now calved. We have 5 more to go that were bull bred so it will be another month. DH has decided to continue with his jersey gomer bull venture. Actually, on the books these have proven to be profitable. He has put in another order for another 6 jersey calves. We already have people on the list for next year. The only thing I don't like is they are so honery but cute at the same time with their big dark eyes.
I need to call my dad's doctor (psychiatrist) this afternoon. The VA needs more info from him so they can fill prescriptions for my dad. I am somewhat glad to have the excuse to call him and report on my dad. He had reduced some of my dad's medications because dad was complaining they were making him drowsy. However, the family is noticing a difference already and he is starting to obcess over little things again. I feel so bad for my mom. I really worry this is going to really affect her health as she already has high blood pressure.
Well I'd better go - also want to go out and do a bit of picking up around the place since the weather is so nice.
You all take care.
