daf bulbs storge question

a friend of mine dug up a million daffedils where an old farm house once sat. She is plannning on moving soon, and wants to store them until she relocates. How do you prepare the bulbs for later planting so they dont mold/rot? And how long can you store them? your advice is appreciated. cheryl
