While some were building greenhouses to keep their brugs & seedlings we were building a new deck on which hopefully they will love and want to show their stuff this summer. It is made out of mahogany and cedar ... love the smell of that wood.
Before and then after will follow
Brugs New Home
Oh my gosh! That is an amazing deck WLL!!! How neat!
That is gorgeous! And HUGE!! What a change it makes to the house. You must be thrilled.
The deck is wonderful, sure changes the looks of the house. It will hold lots of brugs. Can't wait to see it full of plants.
LOL, is your dh going to let you put dirty old plants on that beautiful mahogany?
Welcome back Shelly and congratulations.
Liz, I haven't taken a picture yet of the other side ... been waiting for the brick work to get done. Your right it is huge ... the wood came from out of Washington.
Mystic - hopefully soon, I can hardly wait.
Love it, you are so lucky!
Beautiful deck..it will be so nice to fill with plants and flowers, I know you will enjoy it.
Deb, the deck is great and the view of the pond is something else. Gosh, I hope I have stuff that you can take back with you in May to help fill up some of the space. Jim made some square things out of scrap wood that I can sit plant pots on so they don't have to sit directly on the deck. They work, but our deck is old enough now that I don't care. I just sit the pots right on it. Tomorrow my job is to clean it and put a new coat of stain on it. Not looking forward to it at all. Tell Mike I need to see a picture of him out there enjoying the brugs next summer.
Great looking deck, Deb. Can't wait to see pictures of all your plants on it.
Ooooh that's beautiful, I can picture it filled with flowers:)
Wow -- what a difference that makes. Its an awesome looking deck!
Beautiful deck! I can just picture it filled with Blooms!
Bonnie

Deb, I am so happy for you. What a beautiful deck and a wonderful place to spend time with all your wonderful plants.
You will have so much fun this summer.
Thank You all for the nice comments. I can hardly wait. Tomorrow I will try and get a photo of the rest of it you all did not see ... just please excuse my yard as it is all torn up.
Shirley ... they are shipping the hibiscus out monday. Hope I do good with them... they are so pretty.
You will do fine with them. If I can grow them, you can too. Just remember, they don't like temps below about 55 degrees and you will get along fine with them.
Can't wait to see it full of plants....
Hope you keep us up on it the whole summer!!!
Waterloolily, Great looking deck. Sure looks good with your house. You said material came from Wash., is it Cedar? You will surely enjoy it this summer. Donna
Now there's a gorgeous deck! I too await the picture of it smothered in Brugs. Enjoy!
Wow that is fabulous. Your really going to enjoy it.
Rutholive ... the deck itself is mahogany and the railing is cedar, it came from Sound Cedar out of Washington. It was cheaper for us to have it hauled in then to buy it from the lumber company's around here. Mike found them on the net.
Do ya have any out on your new deck yet Deb??
I have finally started moving a few out. Still waiting for the bricklayer to get finished so I can start planting and try to get my yard back in order. A couple days and he could be done ... just need him to show up!
It will be so worth it all when it is all done. You lucky lady!!!
WLL, I LOVE your place, I could move right in there and be happy forever. I'm a fool for decks and yours is one of the best I've ever seen - I cannot wait to see photos when you add plants!! SherryLike
