The first flower

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

on Big Yella since it got such bad frost bite. I need to decide what to do with this tree soon. It is just too big for where it is and growing by leaps and bounds!

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh Kell, how pretty,if you decide to do some trimming, would you please part with some cuttings?

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Kell, this is beautiful.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

That bloom is huge! Love it!

Do you know who parents were? I would guess Dr. Seuss or Ch. Grimaldi x ?? I am very much interested. I have a couple plants.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Pretty picture Kell with that lovely blue sky.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Beautiful! Do you think, it is different hybrid and not Dr. Seuss or CG?

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

very pretty color! Looks like its a good size flower?

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I can say, this Brug roots and grows like none I have seen,I wish they all were this hardy!

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Beautiful Kell ... someday I need one of these adorning my deck during the spring & summer. Show us more.

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Have you ever shown us the whole tree, kell?
I'd like to see it also!

BTW, one of your cuttings bloomed for my friend. She said it's her best smelling brug so far and described the scent as a mix of lemon and vanilla, not like DS! She wondered why you didn't give it a "real" name, lol. Guess I know where I'm getting my cutting, and quick!

Orange Park, FL(Zone 8b)

Ah Kell...lovely!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks all.

Monika, I bought this tagged as a yellow suaveolens. I bought I think 4 from this nursery and all were a liittle different. One had serrated leaves. So I think these were all seed grown. I bet CG was a parent.

Anytime Deb!! Though I am waiting awhile to send plants until I make sure I do not have the SB crud!

Here is is just now. It got darker.

Beautiful plant kell.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Hey Kell....

It is just beautiful. I think the handsomest I've seen in this color. You sent me a cutting back in August and it was going wild, growing with leaps and bounds. And now I'm crying in my beer. ......after Xander (my first grandchild) was born back in January, DH and I stayed at the kids house for about a week helping out and I lost it. Oh my.....I was soooooo sad.!!! I don't understand why...I just think it needed my special touch!!! LOL Please jot me down for another cutting when you take some and I will send you a gazillion wishes for the first double pink in the US.!!! LOLOLOL

Lots of hugs....

Brinda :)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Big Yella has some nice tendrils for a suaveolens. I love the way it gets to dark.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Monika: I don't think this looks much like a Suaveolens??
More like Candida? Insignis? HELP!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It is very pretty, I like it!
Gloria, it is Multihybrid. The suaveolens influence is seen by the funnel shape and the veins, the aurea influence by its long tips and the versicolor influence by its nodding to almost pending flower and the shape of the corolla crown.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Thank you for info Monika.

I always thought Suaveolens meant flaring out of bloom.
Learning new things every day.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I think I better get Big Yella out to the greenhouse and start pushing for more growth. Beautiful blooms and I'll never forget the shot you took last year from under the blooms. Just gorgeous.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I thought I would bring this up,we had pink yesterday,I am thinking orange today,LOL!

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Love that last photo Kell. Beautiful!!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Can't wait to have bloom on mine. Love the upward shot you did of this one some time back.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I'm ready for spring and flowers!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I have a strange thing happening with all my daffs this year. The foliage is normal height, but the blooms are opening at about three inches off the ground. What do I need to remedy this for next year?

Beverly Hills, CA(Zone 10a)

That's beautiful. I can't believe that on Easter of last year I was brugless! Now look what I saw when I walked outside today. I am really obsessed!

Kell your big yella is going to take center stage on the pool deck this summer.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

WOW Root has been busy making the brug forum looks like Easter wiTH all the pretty colored brugs! Thanks Root!

Kristi, glad you like it. It gets so huge. i wouldn't mind being on your deck this summer with it!

Bambi, that is so pretty. Is it a Tropical Sunset?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Really pretty Bambi.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Shirley, I've never seen any Daffodils bloom like that. Hope you find out what causes it.

Beautiful Brug, Kell.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

These are all beauties, can hardly wait for this summer.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Looking good Bambi

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Bambi, that one is loaded,I'm glad you are seeing some blooms,I have bloom envy here!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Gee Brugie, I do not know. Almost sounds like they did not get enough of a root system going before they bloomed.

Yesterday I went all over the neighborhood taking pics. It was a great day for it because many people were not home and I got the nerve to walk right up to their gardens close to their houses. And I went back at night to get some night shots, but got cold feet after a while when my flash light missed and shown into a window instead of illuminating the plant.

Oh Kell, I can see us now having to come get you out of jail for being a peeping Tom. LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gorgeous pink. It must be beautiful driving down the streets out there right now.

My daffs have been there for years.

Yes, we don't want to have to bail you out, so be careful.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL. I am more afraid of being shot! Though at one house last night around the corner, a guy was saying goodbye to his guests about 9:30 PM, and saw me in his neighbors garden with my flashlight.

He comes up and asks if I lost something. LOL I say no, I am taking pictures and he looks at me and said...."Are you that lady that lives around the corner and up the street? I said I do live over there, and he said you are the one with that beautiful garden! LOL. I am famous. He could have said you are the one that is always bent over in your front yard showing your big butt! LOL

Here is a huge, huge tree of dark pink flowers that I am trying to identify.

Thumbnail by Kell
Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

It is beautiful, whatever it is. Hope you get a name for it.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

I don't know what it is Kell, but it sure is pretty.
Now what would you have done if he had said you're the lady bent over showing your big butt?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It looks like a huge wisteria with dark pink flowers.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh, I didn't expect to see a tree that large. Was thinking more of the crabapple size tree. Those blooms are really showy.
