i want some of these in my yard badly. i can not seem to grow the seeds
wanted empress tree seedlings
SURELY SOMEONE HAS ONE
i have been asking for this myself the last few days. i have some seeds coming i am gonna try.
good luck there are a few sites that i have found that sell plants. do a search for paulowina trees. thats the actual name to these but they have sub species so you need to know which one you want.
I just did a quick search on EBAY for Empress trees and got multiple auctions for both seeds and saplings.
Below is the best deal I found 4 trees for $17.00

These are offered for sale here at one of the local nurseries but they are larger sized. Too large to ship but I could ask the next time I'm there to see if they have them in smaller sizes.

You are welcome Janet I have a few more than I need.
I have never sent live plants... What is the best way to send and pack them? LMK ank I will get them out to you for the postage.

bill I am sure jealous of you seed starting talents. I tried 3 different ways with a few seeds that I had purchased, and nothing I tried worked to get them started!
How did you start yours? I would really like to have one of these trees for the back corner of my yard and am wondering what I did wrong!
The seeds came from an ebay vendor so I suppose it may have been the seeds but I rather doubt it, I am still such an amateur about seed starting that it was probably me.
Thanks for any info that you can give me.

Hello Alice,
I did not have much trouble starting them. Here is how I started mine. I soaked them in hot tap water, let them stay there for 48 hours. Then put them in a folded coffee filter then into a zip lock bag. Then I put the bag under a shop light that is on a timer for 16 hours a day. most germinated in about 15 days. After germination I put them into six packs for about one month then into the cups that they are in now.

Thanks for the hints! I will try again with the method that you used and see if I have better luck.
