New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Found some!!!!! so need to know how deep to plant the seed.. how long will it sprout?? LMK... Are they annual or perinnial?

San Francisco, CA(Zone 10a)

There are a bunch of different plants in the same family (Aristolochia) which have differing hardinesses. Most of them are sometimes called Dutchman's Pipe. My guess is they should be perennial in zone 9a; but, it may depend on the exact species you have.

There was a thread about starting the seeds a little while ago:

Seedpicker_TX ( http://davesgarden.com/members/seedpicker_TX/ ) had the following advice:

"Pre-soak. Surface sow, keep moist(use a clear cover). 30-60 days to germinate, germination erratic(they don't always germinate at the same time-some really early, some late).
If you've done all that, be sure they are covered. My first try, they dried out waiting that long. I finally covered some when the soil was just right(moist, but not damp), and had one or two pop up weekly, over a period of about a month,--- a month and a half after soaking and sowing."

Kirbyville, TX(Zone 8b)

I have Dutchman's Pipe seeds....email me!
