This looks more like a Pachycereus pringlei rather than an Echinopsis terscheckii

Palmbob,
Do you have any thoughts about this?
Here's a side by side comparison of Pachycereus pringlei & Echinopsis terscheckii

if it were from the Huntington, I would change my opinion in a sec.. but this photo is from Lotus Land and there is a curator of cacti and succulents there that really knows what they're talking about so I am not going to change my mind until I discuss this with them.

Ok, thanks, let me know what they say.
But looking at the comparison photo I posted here......What do you think?

Hi Palmbob. Did you ever hear back from the curator of Lotus Land on the ID of this plant?

Acton, CA(Zone 8b)

no, did not get a chance to get back to Lotus Land (appointment only garden)

Is there any chance you can email them? You can use the comparison photo I posted up in this thread and any other photo of mine to send to them if you want to.
I still think that your photo is Pachycereus pringlei, It generally has the same growth habit, the same color, and the same ribs.
It doesn't have the same notches above the areoles that Echinopsis terscheckii does.
Heres the areoles of P. pringlei:

and here's E. terscheckii:

I think Xenomorf is right on this

I do see your point
