I bought this at a GH this summer, tag says Sunset(syn.'Peaches and Cream)
I just got home from Brugies, and P&C is open,we were discussing the differences between it and Maya.So far,it is just changing color and one of the first things is Scent!!Wow,this is far better than Maya,on the first night.
Sunset
Nice! Get your ole' sniffer going. Envy here.
Envy here Root. Mine hasn't bloomed yet.
Thanks,I have JN openning too,and a Rose Suave, basement is smelling great,I will be watching this one for color change,it may be a miss labeled Maya, tomorrow will tell.
I am just glad to smell it!!
Root, my Maya was a fabulous bloomer last year and had a wonderful smell to it.
I'm jealous Root!
Very pretty root! Now go wipe the pollen off your nose again. Did we remember to tell you all that root was running around the greenhouse with pollen on his nose? He thought we would mistake him for a big ole' bee instead of the monkey trainer.
Tracey, that sounds just like our Rooty. LOL
LOL!!! OHHH I forgot! Pollen!!!!!!
Gotta go play bee!!!!
You forgot the Andes mints too, Ashley said they were sure good!
Hope you do some good pollinating, Root. We nned some more beauties.
Wishing you luck for something special Root
WTG Root ... it would be so awesome to have a blooming brug right now.
SUNRISE SUNSET
Sunrise sunset, sunrise, sunset,
Swiftly flow the days,
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers,
Blossoming even as they gaze . . .
Sunrise sunset, sunrise, sunset!
Swiftly fly the years,
One season following another,
Laden with happiness and tears . . .
One season following another,
Laden with happiness and tears . . .
Severe case of sniffer envy here, Root
beautiful brug.....
Love that, Kell!!!!!
I read Root's title and have had that song in my mind ever since. Makes me nuts. LOL You might as well all suffer along with me!
Kell,Now you made me nuts! I have Rod Stewarts' "Tonights the Night" in my head, since I read your post to Monikas thread!LOL!!!
You are in a singing mood today!!LOL!
It looks very pretty for being a winter bloom rooty! The fragrance of it will probably be noticed in the whole house. I wish to know the way how I could preserve the fragrance of the summer flowers to enjoy it during the long winter.
I agree Monika,I wish we could freeze dry them for potpourri.
But then I would have my DW picking all my blooms!
LOL! but think about it - we would be able to sniff all winter long!
Q abt burg just received 2 from springhill used my 20$ coupon. how large of apot should i plant them in? 4in. pot now. they do not look real good they were sent to my mailbox and we were below freezing yesterday, didnt get them in till kids home from school.
I think the next size, would be the 1 Gal.You might want to wait, and see if it perks up from the trip, let it get over the stress, before putting more on it by repotting.
Oh too bad Oriole. Maybe if the top dies back, the bottom if well rooted will survive and put up new growth. So do not toss if it dies back until you give it a chance. But remember do not overwater. let us know how they do. Good Luck!
Hi Oriole. It's good to see you here. Hope your brugs survive okay. Rootdoctor and Kell gave you some good advise. I'll cross my fingers and toes for you.
thanks to all for onfo. Ithink they need potted because the soil is shrunk in from the sides of the pot. soil seems plenty wet.
Something I do when I think the soil is too wet is to place the pot on several layers of paper towels and it seems to wick the excess water out of the soil. Keep us informed of how they do. Brugs are pretty forgiving until they freeze.
Which ones did you get??
It is a lot darker than my Maya ever got too. That is a very pretty color.
It smells great, stronger than Maya,so maybe this was labeled right.
Beautiful color! Wish I had smell-a-vision!!
Doc that's pretty. You are doing good.
Beautiful Root
I just purchased a Sunset from Singing Springs Nursery. www.singingsprings.com The flower is supposed to be darker than Peaches and Cream. I also ordered several other plants from them, an abutilon and several diascias. They send huge plants in potted in large plants. They all arrived in great shape as well. I have never had a mailorder nursery send such large plants for the money. I highly recommend them to everyone.
I couldn't get your link to work Sylvia, but I found the address and let's see if this one will work.

That's it, Shirley. I just came back to this thread, because I remembered that I forgot to add nursery. Don't anyone take this wrong, but that sentence sounded like John Kerry. (the "I remembered that I forgot" part. LOL

You gotta get their catalog. The garden picture on the cover is simply to die for =-)
I forgot to say that the top of one of the abutilon was broken off in shipment. I emailed them to see how easy it would be to try to root it. They immediately emailed me back that that shouldn't have happened and they were putting another one in the mail right away. They said the bottom half would quickly grow into a nice plant, and if I had any luck rooting the top, I would then have 3 plants. Very nice people to deal with.
Pretty indeed :)
