sweet mertle question

I thought it was a perennial, I had a nice little bush, and it 's deader than a doorknob. It should have some green on it by now, but none, is this not a perennial

Sweet myrtle is an evergreen .. perhaps it did not have enough water over the winter.

That might be, It stayed green for a long time, then all of a sudden it was dead. It usually rains enough to satisfy everything during the winter, but I guess this little guy didn't get enough , and now i've lost him. got to get some more.
