My first double to bloom

St. Louis, MO(Zone 6b)

My Candida Double White bloomed. It is my first double brug flower and Wow, am I delighted. Of course it is another case of babies having babies :-) The plant was just moved from a four inch pot to a one gallon pot. I know the common wisdom is to clip the bud and let the energy go into making roots instead of flowers but this one was so far along when I saw it I decided to let it blossom. Love it.

So pretty Padre. It's really hard to clip off that first bloom isn't it?

That is so beautiful. That flower is bigger than the plant! Lucky you!

Congradulations! It's so pretty. I think it would be impossible for me to clip my first bloom! My first cutting was one of these Candida White Doubles, this winter, and it turned to mush. I'm glad yours is doing so well!

springsong, I'm not sure if that is one of your cuttings or not. I have three of them and went in search of the other two to see if their donor's name was on the plant tag. None there either. They are listed in my excel data sheet but I overlooked to put that data on the plant label. I apologize for the lack of complete labeling. It could very well be one of yours. Given that yours is also blooming in a four inch pot - it might very well be yours. Thank you so much. It's a beauty. Now to nurse it to adulthood. :-)

Beautiful bloom Padre .. mine was small like that last year when it bloomed ... my Mike moved it out of the way for safe keeping cause the builders were around ... and wouldn't you know it about 1/2 later the bloom fell off. Was so bummed - but at least I got to see it bloom. Congrats!!!

Beautiful bloom. I have a small CDW and am looking forward to blooms this summer.

Well, I gave mine up due to having too many brugs and in my climate, the spider mites seemed to like it. The thing is that when they have so many mites that you can't get rid of them, they don't bloom right. I'll put something else in that space and be just as happy, with luck.
