When do you plant your ornamental allium bulbs?

Seattle Burbs, WA(Zone 8b)

Oopsie. Found them in the refrigerator. Should I have planted these in October? I notice our other Allium bulbs are now coming up in the garden. All of these bulbs from the refrigerator look good. No rot, and some are starting to grow.

Will I see blooms this year? Did I blow it? Argh!!

I will be so disappointed if I don't get to see 'Globemaster' this year.

Plant them now and see what happens. If they didn't rot they should be fine. I think you still might see blooms this year.

I agree. Ornamental alliums need a good long cold spell and you just provided it. Now, if they feel soft and mushy, they are likely dead. However, depending on if they are a layered bulb like an eating onion or a solid bulb, you may be able to peel away rotted layers and still save them. I have some Frittillara bulbs that have laid in an unheated room of our house since about December. I'll take them to the cafe' and plant them soon.
