At the Huntington Gardens... pretty sure they are not going to like you messing with their plants, and a 'cutting' of an aloe will do you know good (this species at least) since the only 'cutting' that would enable you to grow a new plant would be to remove an entire branch... that would definitely be frowned upon, and it would be impossible to smuggle out of the garden. Better to just buy one on line.. they are cheap and easy to find. Or get seed... easy to grow from seed, too... but not from 'cuttings'. Seedlings grow fast and should be flowering in 4-5 years as long as grown in a hot, dry, warm climate.
