Evergreen Wisteria-Milettia reticulata

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Does anyone have a start--rooted start of Evergreen Wisteria-Milettia reticulata. I tried to root some that was given to me and it did not make it. I love this plant.

boo hoo, I *had* this one and had to leave it behind when we moved. Makes me sad when I think of it... I hope you can find a cutting.

I have one available for trade that rooted in 2002. I have many more that have been rooting since this past winter. Milettia reticulata takes about 8-10 months to root from hard wood. I can send you a photo of the one I have as well as photos of the blooming size plants and thier blooms. Let me know if you are interested in trading.

I have seeds, but I read somewhere that it takes the things three years to bloom from seed. I have tried and tried to root this doggoned thing; I may try layering, or air layering this year. I saw it at the local nursury last fall for only 4.oo. This year, if I see it, it may just be easier to buy it. By the way, the second year if really the clue to pretty flowers, Barb. It bloomed so good last fall, much better than the first year.

Barbara,

My rooted cutting in a gallon container.

Roz,

$4.00 is a steal. Better get it this year. I paid $29.95 and I boug two plants. Mine were in 3 gallon containers and blooming when I got them two years ago.

They were not very big, but in a gallon pot and looked healthy. I will definitely call the nursury and tell her I am looking for some; she will get it I am sure. Barb, that may be the best way to get it. Will let you know when I get it. I think lots of folks want that; I may just load up on it.
