Am I Bad?

I went to Dollar General & they had bulbs packaged for a dollar a dozen, sparaxis, acidanthera, yellow glads, & freesias.
They aren't hardy in zone 5-6, but they should bloom right?
I thought I would just let them go to town this year & forget them. But of course If they do great.... I'll be out there... hunting for them come fall....

Go back to the dollar store and get dollar pots. Put the bulbs in clumps in the pots and bury the whole thing. Then they will be easy to remove. I wish I had done this to the sparaxis the first year I had them. Makes those little bulbs much easier to find.

Alright, I will. I was afraid of throwing good money after bad... But the sparaxis, do look lovely.

do a google search on growing freesia's. i did and found out they are hard to grow. but for $1 what the heck.

The pictures will get me every time.
the fresias are actually starting to sprout.... I will get them in dirt tomorrow...

And originally I was just going to let them bloom this year & forget them... DH Thought why not try the pot thing... He's really been into gardening for a couple of years now... It is so much more fun... & productive with a strong back to help out.
