Goober goes South....

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Ole Goob decided,it was time to do some traveling,I was not sure if he was looking for his cousin Goofy,or if this was just a ploy to see new ground!
So we loaded up the Big Dog and headed south!

Goober is resting now for fun this weekend. We're gonna go lookin for that gator. Bought the bait today.
He's been keeping an eye on Elliot, my cockatoo. I think he's wondering if he could get a quick ride in before the bird takes a big bite out of him.
He did have a good time at Frannies, though first thing he tried to hijack a wagon load of brugs. Hope she comes along and posts a pic.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Absolutely wonderful Root. You should contact PBS ~ maybe they can do a documentary.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Let's try this again. I'm not sure what happened to the last post I made.
Goober was real busy today. We divided a big Chinese yellow banana. Here he is hanging from the top of it, looking for nanners of course.

That little monkey sure likes to climb. I caught him climbing the lattice to get a whiff of the Carolina Jessamine.

Then it was on to the resaca for some gator fishing. This looks like a good spot to catch a gator, lots of tall weeds to hide in.

Here's Goober, laid back in the weeds, a big piece of chicken on the line, gone gator fishin.

Didn't catch anything so he asked for a hand up from Bill(who was fishing, but not for gator)

I hope you feed Goober even tho he didn't catch a fish for his dinner tonite!!!LOL

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

No gators biting today, so it's back for a relaxing time at the pool. Lauren came along and gave him a quick ride around the pool so he didn't get wet and catch cold. Tomorrow we are going back to fish for gator, gotta catch one and make Rootdoc proud! Tonight we're cooking the bait since we didn't catch a gator with it. Someone said gator tastes like chicken anyway.

Great pictures, you guys! Goober sure knows how to travel well:-)

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

The above history of Goober going south was great reading, I'm just sorry none of you guys have any imagination. Donna

Tropicman, he had a good dinner of sapopilla, bananas and guava. We went down the road to a tropical fruit nursery that sells fruit that they grow. I should have taken the camera, they have bunches of home grown bananas hanging on the porch! Little fellow went wild.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Well I'm glad to hear he had a good dinner,be sure to watch his sugar intake, you were lucky you got hom back in the vehicle to go home with those bananas hanging on the porch!!!

Mesilla Park, NM

If ever Goober wants to come down here to Mo Valley, CA, he is welcome, we have a nice hammock for him to rest in and then he can ride one of the three Golden Retrievers of his choosing, or all three. We also have a small picnic table just for little guys like goober, nanas, and lots of oranges, limes, and maybe even apricots, berries, apples, depending on when he can come. There is lots to do, he can play with the Grandchildren if he comes down in June. There is lake not too far from here where we can fish, and I have lots of bamboo plants he can climb. I do have to warn you though, I let everyone stay up late at night during the summer, and sleep in late too.. while I water my garden..

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Hey Gourd, heck with Goober can I come instead!!!!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

HEY!!!

My birds resent that Gator tastes like chicken coment!!

And using them as bait is really insulting......

Gober had better watch his comments if he ever thinks they'll let him go Chicken bronco riding....

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO

Goober said he's sorry CC, he is using Oscar Meyer this evening for bait. He hasn't eaten gator, so can't say if it tastes like chicken or not. Probably tastes more like rattlesnake(which they say tastes like chicken).

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

OMG he is using a weenie to catch the gator!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Well, poor little fella, didn't catch anything yesterday either. That gator just won't cooperate. We might have to go to a bait shop for heavy duty bait. After a trying day fishing, Goober had a relaxing evening by the pool with fresh bananas.

Mesilla Park, NM

Sure Tropicman, they even have a section to beach at this lake.. Also, many, many neat nurseries around here. We'll take you and Goober site seeing..lol..

Although, it looks like he's having a ball in TX. I don't blame him.

It was a bit rainy today, but the little monkey managed to escape from the house. I found him in the yard, in this giant philodendron. He thought this was a banana! I had to tell him it wouldn't taste very good if he took a bite.

Next I caught him in a palm tree. He thought these flowers were mini bananas. That little guy has bananas on the brain!
I had to remind him to watch out for those nasty thorns on the palm fronds.

For Goober's sake, Cala.......you need to hang that poor monkey some bananas around your yard!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

For cryin' out loud, that is one uncontrolable monkey. I agree, you might want to feed him some bananas or he might leave home.

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

I think Goober should make the rounds of all of us here at DG, and tell his stories in pictures of where he has traveled, until he gets back to Roots home, that is.
