I live in the central valley of California and I want to plant a vine in a container that gets only partial sun. I want it to bloom and I want it to train it to grow up a post and across a beam of my shade structure. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am fond of my carolina jessamine.

Hi,
I too am in the central valley, Stockton.
Nice meeting you!
Do you want something that is an annual or are you wanting a perennial? I just started seed of coral vine & also some pandorea vine. & I have some Clitoria seed left over too. How close are you to me?
Donna
Hi blackbeltlaura, and welcome (I notice you just became a member today.) I don't really have any advice, because I'm just learning, too. You came to the right place. Have fun, and share a photo of your vine once you get it going (whatever it turns out to be.)
Welcome to Daves Laura. I'm just here reading. Don't really have any suggestions right now.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I just now got the hang of the thread idea.
