Hey, I'll throw in some chocolate mint when I ship your package out tomorrow, I have to mow that stuff down when I mow grass all the time. it's growing in 2 diff places. I got as much of it as I do the pineapple. LOL

no need to send anything else to me but what your already sending.

I was warned to beware of mint because it can become invasive. Is that all mints, any mints, or just cetain ones?

I've always wanted to try some, but my gardening area isn't huge, and I don't want to have to be digging it out all the time.

I got into that with buttercups! I hate them now, the invade like dandylions.~G

As far as I know, it's all mints. I have also read that the different varieties will interbreed freely, so you want to grow them a bit spaced apart unless you don't mind them mingling and perhaps losing their characteristics.

I know they spread via runners, and think they also spread via roots.

So they're good candidates for containers, or at least in a bed that's apart from all your other beds so you only have to weed them out in one place.

They're not terribly vigorous in my zone, btw, so they're pretty easy to weed out if they spread. Try them in containers first to see if they'll turn into monsters! Some people find lemon balm invasive in their zones, but I find it spreads pretty mildly and is easy to weed. I've had some mint invade me from my neighbor's garden, but it's not nearly as much of a pest as the morning glories.

Trying it out in a container? Why didn't I think of that?lol
