Let me warn you that you might not be able to leave the computer long enough to plant your garden.....it's very addictive.
Hi Gilly and welcome to DG - I hail from Cambridge and moved to the US seven year's ago. Recently moved from one area of Virginia (which had wonderful soil) to the Charlottesville area (red, clay soil) - definitely a challenge but one which can be overcome. I'm passionate about roses and you can always find me in the rose forum. If I can be of any help let me know! :-)

Welcome to your new home, Gilly1! A lot of us (including me) are trying to get that "country English garden" look. Maybe you can help us. Where I garden (or attempt to), we don't have much cold, but we do have heat and clay. Let me share three words with you that changed my life: raised beds & mulch! I'll look forward to "seeing" you around. Again, welcome.
Welcome from Ohio!! You've certainly found the right place for garden help! The folks here are fantastic!
Welcome, Gilly!
