CALLING ALL IRIS EXPERTS

I have never grown these before so I know zilch about them. Are they fussy? Can they survive our hot summers here in GA?My DH wants a "black" one and I want a "true blue" one. I've only seen the pix in catalogs so I don't know what they "really" look like b/c I know the pix are sometimes doctored. What are your opinions on the cultivars that are the closest to what I want and where is the best place to buy them at? Thanks for your help!!!

Post you questions there, look at the pretty pictures ... try to resist irises ... lol.

I think you are asking about bearded iris - if so, yes, they can take the heat as well as the cold in zone 7. They need at least 6 hours of sun to bloom well.
