bromeliad question

Melbourne, FL(Zone 9a)

i have several bromeliad plants and have had them for years yet they never produce a bloom-- they are outside, well cared for, have reproduced many times but no bloom

they have dark green leaves with a red tip on the end of the leaf which is kind of pointed

i would post picture but they are at my other house - i am in process of moving--

was just sitting here thinking about them and wondering if there are broms which do not bloom?????

Sounds like a Painted Fingernail plant?? Without a pic it's hard to tell.
Some just bloom in the center and you never even notice..some just take certain conditions before they bloom...but you can try this trick..put it in a plastic bag with an apple...close it up & leave it for a wekk or 10 days. take it out & it should bloom with in about 2 weeks. I'd empty out all the water in it first...

painted fingernail it is - i just looked it up and found a pic of it - and yes they do show a bloom that forms down inside the cone- -guess i have just never seen it as they are in backyard under a tree...
thanks so very much for your help and post- sure appreciate it

i just looked at your trade list and would be very much interested in angel trumpet white .. i dont have alot to trade right now but if youre interested in the painted fingernail i would be happy to send a couple-- email me and let me know if you are interested in trading or postage!!
