Can tubers be shipped to Italy without customs getting irate?

If they can,I'll see what is available. There should be several varieties available locally right now. It's just about 'tater time'.

Hi Melody !

Italian customs ( I have a good experience )
Permit small amounts of roots plants..
Even I received Potatoes (solanum ) from Chile that even did not pass through the customs.
I got Yakon inspected by customs with no problem and no documentation !
Somebody write (for instance ) US dollar 5 plant or seed .
It does not matter the country is Chile, Australia or USA !

So if may help me !
We may email directly !
So I can look forward to have some of the Southern Cooking recipes with Sweet Potatoes !
