Yeah, they sure are. We'll buy the "home place" and live in the house I grew up in. They'll move 3 miles into town and have less house and yard to take care of. I will miss the NM winters or the lack of them.

Hi Ron,
And welcome to this marvelous site. I'm fairly new, too. Beat you by only a few days. Michigan is lots colder than New York where i come from. Hope you enjoy this place as much as I do.

Hi Ron - welcome to DG. That's pretty neat that you get to move back into the house you grew up in and I hope you adjust to the new/old winter climate quickly :)

Hi Ron

You are from my old stompping grounds I am from Albuquerque/ Rio Rancho SW valley no less. I miss alot of things about the SW the food mainly.
But Ohio's weather is just about the same except for the humidity,I miss the dry heat and swap coolers.
I miss the mountains as well, Ohio has hills but no mountains.
Oh the flood gates of memories of home.
Happy Gardening, Mike

Well, we're here, in Minnesota, and finally back on line. What an adventure! Try moving 1600 miles with 3 vehicles, 4 kids, 2 dogs, a cat and a bird. I plan on being here a loooong time. Overall, it went quite well.
I know what you mean mikepiper. The humidity here is brutal. And, if that wasn't bad enough you can't buy any decent green chile. We lived in Silver City. Perhaps some friends there will send us a care package of that famous Hatch chile.
Ron

Welcome Ron to Dave's Garden. Glad you came and joined in.

Welcome, welcome, from a newbie! Hope you'll get re-settled in Minnesota fine! But, I agree with Mike about New Mexico! I grew up in Albuquerque and my Dad still lives there! Miss it loads- and they have winters, too! Just NOT as cold! I excited, though, I'll get to see home again in august- going out for a short visit before flying to Texas for some training! And the Hatch chili make my mouth water too! Here in Maryland there is NOTHINg that comes close! when I first came here after college they laugh at my missing chilis, tacos, etc.!!!
JEanne
By the way- Minnesota IS TOO COLD FOR ME ! My daughter now goes to college right outside of Minneapolis- River Falls, WI., and I made the BIG mistake of visiting her on her campus last February!!!! I've never been so cold and I even hit it during a warm spell!!! LOL!
