This forum will return

The forum has now been down for over 36 hours and I have to say, I'm enjoying the peace and quiet. At the same time, I regret that this fun place is no longer filled with pictures of beautiful brugmansias (and friends).

This forum will come back and re-launch again, in about 5 more days. During this cooling off period, let's regather our thoughts and collect our emotions.

On Monday I will reopen this forum.

Dave

I am now reopening the forum now that (what I think is) a sufficient amount of cool-off time has elapsed. Whether we keep this forum is entirely up to you guys. Personally, I love seeing the brug pics and reading discussions abou these plants, so I hope that we can keep it an active and clean forum.

best,
dave

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Singing Hail, Hail, the Gangs All Here.
Leave your worries at the door boy, they're not going anywhere

Hail, hail the gang's all here
When the going gets tough, I know my friends will still be there

Well you're walking down the road and the wind is in your face
You're down and out and the unemployment line's a mile long
The money in your pocket may not get you through the day
But cheer up son I know a place where mugs like us belong

You recall the cheer, "The Gang's All Here" and shout!

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

So glad to see brug pics again. I'm not a brug grower and just saw my first live one at IA State Univ. on Feb. 28. It was in their greenhouse, the plant was 12-15 ft. high and the peach/pink bloom was HUGE! It was about 8" across and a foot long! Is that a usual size or was this one larger because the plant was so big? Inquiring minds want to know!!!! :)

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Dave! I needed to know for sure if those were "brugs". Hope all goes well. :)

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Thank you Dave!

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

kooger, the brugs blossoms do indeed get that large without the plant being several years old. Some folks don't have room to store their brugs over the winter, so start out with cuttings or seedlings every spring and still get a nice-sized plant with many blossoms.

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

whew - like a breath of spring air.....glad we're back and running

I was going into withdrawal (but, I actually got my Big Lots greenhouse built to hold these brugs!) Maybe temporary forum locks would help me get more done outside! Dave, thanks! I'm ignorant of the situation and I plan to stay that way. Just glad it's back and can see brugs!!!!

Mukwonago, WI(Zone 5a)

Thank You, Dave. I sure missed lurking too. I may not be one of the 'avid 'posters' ( my own little problem)...but I sure learn a lot about brugs here. So glad this forum is back up.

ROFLMBO!
I've been gone awhile, moving from my farm down to the coast. I sure am glad y'all got us all back up here. Nobody down here in the deep south knows what I'm talking about! They have some pretty stuff, but no one has any of these here burgs! :-)
Must be all that perfume from the burgs going to our heads!

Hugs!
Donna
