Corms from Hirt's Green...how to simulate a cool period?

Sarasota, FL(Zone 9b)

I am PO'ed!!! I was looking for some oxalis bulbs and came upon Hirts Green on ebay...Hardy oxalis bulbs. I wrote and specifically asked if Hardy meant they needed a cool spell.....nooo they said, just pop them in and they will go. Popped them in and they are going nowhee fast! So I emailed and got this answer :Hardy bulbs need at least an 11 week cool period." Just what I had asked because I didn't want to go through this! They now say I must dig them up and keep them in the frig for 11 weeks...either that or walk out in the yard and throw them in the Gulf! Which I won;t do...I paid for them after all and I'm Scotch! What should I do? Dig them up and dry them before they go into the hydraytor? How dry? How cool? Thanks in advance for guidance!
